p.o.p. candy "popped" out of Rachel Flores and Bill Waiste in December 2007. Bill's professional life has been in the restaurant and food industries, and Rachel has spent most of her professional life designing and implementing nonprofit programs that bridge media, education, and public health. Together, they’ve fused their love of food, pop culture, community, and life in Santa Monica into p.o.p. candy co. “We believe in the significance of the small pleasures in life and in the power of giving. We love the pleasure that p.o.p. brings to people, and we have a commitment to extend that pleasure as best we can to efforts that serve community and that feed the soul and spirit.”“p.o.p.” is a nod to Pacific Ocean Park, an amusement park pier that once stood at Santa Monica Beach.
